Vergeer Holland celebrates its 90th anniversary!

And we would like to take a moment to reflect on that. It all started in the 17^th century, and since then Vergeer Holland has grown into a leading and customer-focused family business. We are happy to think along with our customers and their product range. We make sure we can meet every need!

How it started

What began with the sale of artisanal cheese by Dirk Vergeer has grown into what Vergeer is today: one of the leading cheese maturers and sellers in the Netherlands. In the 1960s, we responded to the increasing demand for packaged cheese by investing in space and machinery and expanding our range with pre-packaged slices and grated cheese.

Our growth over the years

Today, Vergeer has become one of the largest cheese packaging companies in Europe, with 550 employees spread across locations in Reeuwijk, Woerden, and Bodegraven. We supply cheese to customers worldwide, but remain strongly connected to our roots in Reeuwijk, where the family still lives close together.

As a dynamic and enterprising company, we strive for continuity and healthy growth—but certainly not at any cost. Responsible and sustainable business is something we work on every day. This means we focus on purchasing and sales with minimal impact on people, animals, and the environment. Corporate Social Responsibility is a fixed part of our discussions with suppliers, whom we select based on established sustainability requirements.
